This duet was written in the Spring of 2010 in Prague. It is a delicate piece with a
sense of tempo and density infused within a barely changing anatomic beat. The title, and then the piece itself,
recalls the memory of my oldest children when little, Nicholas and Eliane, as they ran high-speed, giggling circles around me,
and then throughout our Muncie house, “stealing” orange wedges I was about to place in my mouth. The glee at defeating
their father was palpable as I pretended to be helpless and intensely angry. This ritual was repeated over and over
nearly every evening for many years and is a dear memory for me. My children are far now. DS, 2019
