Bart Bridger Woodstrup recently received a Master of Music in Computer Music and New Media Technology at Northern Illinois University. His work, however, extends beyond the boundaries of music and sound art. He has produced video work, which is shown frequently in the U.S. He also enjoys working with a variety of media (i.e. photography, performance art, net.art, etc.) often incorporating these into an intermedia piece. Currently, he is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Northern Illinois University where he teaches classes in video, performance, sound art, digital imaging, and critical thinking for art and time. 33akq56OO is a symbol for a cold, deserted wasteland. Where a harsh wind blows through dying trees. It is also the distance to travel through this land. You can not be accompanied on this journey; you must do it alone. With each step you'll be reminded that you'll never return home. Inspired by a poem of the same title, "33AKQ5600" was composed using the graphic programming language MAX. Guitar, composition, and video by Bart Bridger Woodstrup. approx. 4 min. 33akq56OO (poem) Take me over like a light breeze rushes over the snow. In a field of white lilies, a blackbird. The trees behind me are the skeletons that rattle and laugh in the breeze. Like a snare, a stumbling block my spirit is buried in the snow. Emotions rise and faith falls clasped - my last view. (The blood) dripping bright is a bitter red from under the door the chill of being alone. To press on, crippled to the warmth of knowing you're home. Inside purple, silk, and scarlet from the icy white. Like a broken backbone, after all you've done you're now alone and there's nowhere, nowhere you can call home.
