Three Chairs is rhythmic study ("percussive video") of three chairs made
on December 6, 1994 just outside Dan Senn's Shy
Anne Studio in Tacoma, WA. The piece is shot on Hi8 tape,
in-camera edited, and intended from the outset to be viewed over 4
rotated and stacked video monitors. This online version demonstrates
the orientation and its effect. The piece was taped over a 2 hour
period.
The sound track for Three Chairs
was improvised on Gamelydes 1, 2, 3
and 4 at Studio FMEra, Watertown, WI on September 13, 2020.
