Covideo 1994, updated 2020 by Dan Senn |
Origins (see video) Use headphones for full sound spectrum. Video with Pig, Chicken and Scrapercussion Sounds (2020) duration 5:47 |

"Covideo first appeared in
late 1994 as part of a sculptural instrument called a
"Telelyre" with a video titled "Teleliar" featuring ![]() |
But for the in-camera edited video file, little of this old
soundsculpture remains today. Yet, in this time of political hucksterism and COVID-19, I was reminded
of my 1994 work, of Ollie North, the history of Trumpism, these endless plagues and origins for both. And so I have made a
political work from a political work expanding the two video output of "Telelyre:
Telelyre"
to 14 virtual monitors twisting
about in a sonic milieu of pointellistic pig snorts chicken clucks and metallic feedback. The sound accompaniment for Covideo came from Scrapercussion #7 feedback samples, and pig snorts and chicken clucks which I recorded on a farm near Portland, OR, and first used in a "Fenced Penduling with Pigs aSnortin'. A high resolution and full sized video is available for download from the artist. Listen to video with headphones or a full spectrum speaker system. |
