La Bohéme was written in the Spring of 2010 in
Prague, The Czech Republic, in my Břevnov flat. It is a work is of
extreme emotions and
textures in four main
sections, each of which presents the same basic tonal material within
drastically different
contexts. Most of the
pitch material for this piece was taken from two symmetrical
phrases in
Salvatore Martirano’s “Cocktail Music” for solo piano.
