This duet was written in the Spring of 2010 in Prague, The Czech Republic, in my Břevnov flat. It is a delicate piece with a sense of tempo and density infused within a barely changing anatomic bea. The title, and then the piece itself, recalls the memory of my oldest children, Nicholas and Eliane, as young children, as they ran high-speed, giggling circles around me, and then throughout our Muncie, Indiana, house, “stealing” orange wedges I was about to place in my mouth. The glee at defeating the old man was palpable as I pretended to be helpless and intensely angry. This ritual was repeated over and over and over nearly every eventing and is a very dear memory for me. Press play above, then scroll down through pages.
