Sound Art and the International Connection, A two session workshop sponsored by Newsense Intermedium and the Tacoma Arts Commission International Fund at the Tacoma Art Museum (3rd floor) on Wednesday, July 19 featuring "Six Exquisite..." sound artists Trimpin (Seattle), Warren Burt (Australia), Jaap Blonk (Amsterdam), Johannes S. Sistermanns (Cologne), James Staley (New York City), and Dan Senn (Tacoma). Sessions from 5-7pm, 7:30-9:30pm with a gallery tour from 7-7:30pm. Topics will include European, Pacific Rim and American sound art venues, examples of individual work, and methods for making connections on an international level (i.e. databases, artist networks, the internet).
